Swtich it Up, Bro.

-->
Men’s fashion, much like men, doesn’t really change. (And if it does, it’s for a damn good reason.) Trends take time to truly age, like that box of Franzia hiding in the back of your closet. Autumn is arguably the most stylishly-driven time of the year, which means that it’s the best time to face plant into fall fashion.

A new kind of rainbow. Every season comes with a fresh new palate. To help you remember the different shades, lets play a little word association game. Maroon (think the color of red wine), burnt orange (Blue Moon), and faded yellow (old natty) are all standout colors this year. Color in the fall can be tricky, as wearing anything too bright against your pale skin and hair (R.I.P. summer) can wash you out. These shades add a pop of color to your look without scaring away the ones you love.

Not just for S&M anymore. This season’s breakout star is undoubtedly leather. For years the leather jacket and the well-dressed man have gone together like pizza and beer. If you don’t have one, here’s your sign to splurge. Remember: this coat screams sex appeal louder than Zac Efron beating his 6-pack like bongos on the beach, so buy one that fits accordingly.

Plaid on plaid on plaid. Grunge chic may have mellowed out over the years, but never truly went out of style. I’ll bet you a good burger one of the plaids in your closet was inspired by some pattern from the 90’s, but even the classics get updated. Find one with neutrals as a base, but go towards the unexpected with the other colors. Indigo (yes, the accidental love child of blue and purple) has been my personal favorite this year.

As men we’re blessed when it comes to fads. Unlike women, our styles tend to last over a much longer period of time, so we’re not always chasing the next cool animal print or cut of jean. Go out young lad, try on a color or fit you’re not used to, because chances are it’ll still be cool next season. And if not, YOLO.
